Delivery Terms

These terms are applicable to the purchase and delivery of one of our pre-designed rooms.

1. Delivery service:

1.1. Since we have sourced the items in the purchased room from various third party suppliers:

  • Delivery is undertaken by our third party suppliers and/or by their delivery contractors. We do not deliver the goods ourselves.
  • You will be receiving several deliveries as the products you have purchased originalte from different suppliers, and our suppliers generally deliver large furniture items separately from homeware.

1.2. We require that the delivery document be signed by the customer or any authorised representative or employee of the customer, once goods have been delivered and inspected, to indicate that each item has been received in good order. We cannot be held liable for any damages that are not marked clearly on the delivery note.

2. Delivery charges:

2.1. The delivery charge depends upon whether you stay in a main centre or an outlying/regional area.

2.2. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout. 

3. Delivery date and time:

3.1. Your goods will be delivered within 14 (fourteen) working days, calculated from when the purchase price is received. Payments via EFT may take 2 -3 days to reflect in our account.

3.2. Delivery times are estimates only.

4. Delivery address:

4.1. When placing your order, you bear the responsibility of entering the full and accurate delivery address, including the postal code.

4.2. Should you place an order for an area that is not serviced by our suppliers’ couriers, we will contact you to advise you, and shall arrange either delivery to the nearest town (if possible) or a refund.

4.3. We require an exact physical address in order to deliver. We do not deliver to informal settlements, farms or where the delivery address is on a gravel road.

4.4. Deliveries will only be made where there is reasonable access to the premises. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that items can easily pass through doors, up staircases etc. No furniture will be hoisted up onto balconies or through windows.

4.5. It is your responsibility to remove any old furniture and breakables from the space where goods are to be delivered.

4.6. If the customer requests that these terms be ignored, Home in a Box will not be held liable for any damage to goods or property.

5. Assembly of certain products:

5.1. Some of the items you have purchased may be unassembled and will require assembly.

5.2. Where possible, we will purchase your new products with a request for assembly assistance. This means that, due to damage and space restrictions, our delivery partner who delivers the products will assemble the product at delivery.

5.3. Assembly is not available for all delivery areas. 

5.4. Where we have been unable to pre-arrange for assembly assistance, assembly instructions for these products will be provided and they will require self-assembly.
